New Chief Building Official
The City of Sedalia is excited to announce our new Chief Building Official, Bryan Kopp. Mr. Kopp comes to the City with over twenty-four years of experience in building, code, and community development. As the Chief Building Official, Mr. Kopp will be responsible for overseeing all building-related activities within the City, including building permits, inspections, and code enforcement. His extensive knowledge and expertise make him the perfect candidate to lead the City in ensuring that all construction projects meet safety and code requirements.
In addition to his experience, Mr. Kopp has obtained twenty-four different certifications through the International Code Council (ICC) including residential and commercial code. Most notable, Mr. Kopp has achieved Certified Building Official, Building Plans Examiner, and Certified Floodplain Manager.
Mr. Kopp’s extensive training and experience will bring a fresh perspective to our Building and Code Department. “We are excited and very blessed to have Mr. Kopp join our team as the Chief Building Official,” said Mayor Andrew Dawson. “His wealth of experience and dedication to ensuring the highest standards of construction quality and safety make him an invaluable asset to our City.” Mr. Kopp is also looking forward to the new position stating, “I’m truly excited for the opportunity to serve the people and community of Sedalia.” Mr. Kopp will be working with the community to promote safe and sustainable development in Sedalia beginning on August 26th, 2024.
