City of Sedalia Receives Tree City USA Designation for 16th Year
The City of Sedalia is proud to celebrate its 16th consecutive year as a Tree City USA community. This prestigious designation, awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation highlights our commitment to maintaining a healthy and sustainable urban forest.
By achieving this status, the City of Sedalia has demonstrated excellence in:
- Proper tree care and management
- Community involvement in environmental initiatives
- Commitment to green spaces and sustainability
In order to become a Tree City USA, a community must meet and maintain the following four core standards of sound urban forestry management: having a Tree Board, the adoption of a Tree Care Ordinance, a community forestry program of at least $2 per capita, and a proclamation and observation of Arbor Day.
Trees provide cleaner air, shade, and beauty to our City, benefiting both residents and future generations. We encourage everyone to take part in tree-planting efforts and conservation programs to continue making Sedalia a greener, healthier place to live.
