Sedalia Unveils Newly Painted Water Towers: A Community Effort
We are thrilled to announce the implementation of a community-driven project that brings pride and spirit to the forefront of our City. Thanks to the generous contributions of local donors, the iconic Sedalia logo and tagline are being painted on our two water towers, symbolizing the unity and character of our community.
This project would not have been possible without the remarkable support of the following donors:
Service Clubs: Sedalia Lions Club, State Fair Lions Club, Sunrise Optimist Club, Noonday Optimist Club, Kiwanis Club
Organizations: Sedalia Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sedalia Chamber of Commerce
Industry & Business: ProEnergy, Presidio, Yeager Cycle, Callis & Associates, Gardner Denver Mfg., State Fair Community College Foundation, BTC Bank, Central Bank
Individuals: Russell & Julie Childers, Gene & Ann Whitaker, Rick & Susan Mergen, Dr. Doug Kiburz, Evan Fluty, Joe Fluty, R.J. & Lisa Lindstrom, Matt Boatright, Darren Grove, Jeff & Becky Wimann, Richard & Susan Beard, Jack McIntosh, Steve & Gail Fritz, John & Mary Meehan
This project was funded entirely by private donations – no public dollars from the City of Sedalia were used. By securing private funding, the City can focus its resources on other critical areas, ensuring that our community continues to thrive. These actions exemplify not only the pride these individuals have in their community, but also their generosity. Their shared attitude of “What can I do to help?” truly embodies the spirit of community.
“The Sedalia logo and tagline painted on our water towers represent more than just a design – they embody the heart of our City. They tell our story, highlight our progress, and invite visitors to see what Sedalia is all about,” said Mayor Andrew Dawson. “This project displays our collective pride, as well as our commitment to growing and fostering our identity.”
Visible from Highways 50 and 65, these towers are a beacon to all, reminding residents and visitors alike of the welcoming community spirit for which Sedalia is known.
The City of Sedalia extends its deepest gratitude to those who spearheaded the fund-raising effort and all who contributed; this was truly a community effort. Your generosity and commitment have transformed this vision into a reality, and we are proud to share this symbol of unity with everyone who calls Sedalia home.
Together, we’ve painted more than just a couple water towers – we’ve painted the spirit of Sedalia.
